George’s 9Z-8T: Tractor Power for Trans Mara

George returned to LUCTORC three months after his first enquiry, chose a tractor-PTO 9Z-8T chaff cutter and now has the machine in Trans Mara, Narok County.

George's tagged 9Z-8T at the supplier's test yard, processing maize stalks while a tractor powers it through the PTO. This is a factory test, not work on his farm.

George farms in Trans Mara, Narok County. He first contacted LUCTORC in June, then returned three months later ready to order. His requirement had two sides: household work and commercial use. With limited electricity at the farm and a tractor already available, he chose a 9Z-8T chaff cutter driven through the tractor's PTO.

The June discussion began with domestic use and continued with machine questions.

A conversation that resumed three months later

The first discussion was practical: where the Nairobi office was, how George intended to use the equipment and what sort of machine would fit. The June chat began with domestic use. By the order stage, the requirement supplied for this story covered both household and commercial work.

Then the conversation paused. Three months later George came back to the same thread, ready to move from discussion to an order.

“Want to make order for the unit we discussed.” The reply confirms the 8-ton-per-hour PTO-driven configuration before the proforma invoice.

Returning ready to order

George's September message was direct: “Want to make order for the unit we discussed.” LUCTORC confirmed the 8 ton/h, PTO-driven choice in the same exchange and prepared the proforma invoice.

The 8 t/h figure is the machine's published rated output. It is not a measured result from this short test or from George's farm, where material, moisture, feed rate and tractor setup will all affect real working output.

Matching the drive to the farm

Electricity at George's farm is limited. A diesel-powered or tractor-driven machine therefore made more practical sense than depending on a fixed electrical supply. He already owns a tractor, so PTO drive uses a power source that is already part of his operation.

LUCTORC can also supply a three-drive configuration combining electric, diesel and PTO power. George chose the tractor-PTO version: the machine connects to the tractor's power take-off rather than carrying its own engine or relying on mains electricity.

From factory floor to PTO test

The first factory clip records the machine while it is still being assembled. Later photographs show the completed green chaff cutter outside with its conveyor, discharge chute, wheels and PTO shaft in place.

This sequence documented the machine before shipment. George has since received the unit in Trans Mara; pictures of it working at his own site are still pending.

The ordered configuration in view

The photographs show the long intake conveyor that carries stalks into the cutting chamber and the tall curved chute that directs chopped material away from the machine. The tractor sits behind the cutter, supplying power through the PTO connection.

A tagged test, not a farm result

The paper label on the housing reads “Kenya George Narok”, tying the factory media to George's order. The working footage shows maize stalks being fed into the conveyor while chopped material exits the chute.

This is factory evidence of George's selected PTO configuration. It does not show the machine delivered in Trans Mara, and it does not establish measured output under his farm conditions.

What comes next

George now has the machine in Trans Mara. We are waiting for more pictures from him showing it in use. When that media and any measured results are supplied, this page will be updated with evidence from his own site.

Choosing power for your own site

If your site has limited electricity but you already run a tractor, tell us what material you want to cut, your expected daily volume and the tractor power available. We can discuss PTO, diesel and multi-drive options and send the appropriate specifications and quotation. See the 9Z-8T specifications or contact LUCTORC.
